International Management Division (IM) Doctoral Student Consortium (DSC) 2020

IM Division DSC Chairs

  • Stav Fainshmidt (Florida International U.)
  • Chengguang Li (Ivey Business School)

The International Management Division will offer a virtual Doctoral Student Consortium during this year’s virtual Academy of Management Meeting on Saturday, August 8, 2020 (specific time details will be updated as the virtual meeting program is developed).

The Doctoral Student Consortium is designed for current Ph.D. students with an interest in international management as either the primary or secondary field of inquiry. We welcome participants from all stages of the Ph.D. program to attend, regardless of whether you have recently joined or are at an advanced stage of your doctoral program.

The consortium will offer both structured and informal discussions between participants and faculty panelists on research, job opportunities, and early stage career strategies. A substantial amount of time will also be set aside for dissertation development, featuring one-on-one feedback from faculty in small groups. This is both an excellent opportunity to get valuable feedback on your work, as well as a chance to network with fellow doctoral students and leading scholars in the International Management field.

Immediately following the consortium, participants will be invited to a tentative virtual “Meet the Editors” session. This session will provide an opportunity to hear directly from Editors at some of the leading journals in the field of International Management. This session will be held jointly with the IM Division Junior Faculty Consortium.
