Academy of Management IM Division Doctoral Student Consortium (DSC) 2025

Co-Chairs:

Marie-Ann Betschinger (HEC Montreal) and Charlie Stevens (Rutgers University)

The International Management (IM) Division is offering a Doctoral Student Consortium (DSC) at this year’s Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Accepted participants will be considered for an IM Division scholarship covering their AoM conference registration fee. Places in the DSC are limited; the deadline to apply is Monday, May 12, 2025.

The Doctoral Student Consortium is designed for current PhD students, who have an interest in international management, as either their primary or secondary field of inquiry. We welcome participants from all stages of the PhD program.

Confirmed panelists include (in alphabetical order):

  • Joao Albino-Pimentel, University of South Carolina
  • Helena Barnard, University of Pretoria
  • Gabriel Benito, BI Norwegian Business School
  • Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra, Northeastern University
  • Andrew Delios, National University of Singapore
  • Jesper Edman, Waseda University

  • Tatiana Kostova, University of South Carolina
  • Ram Mudambi, Temple University
  • Rebecca Piekkari, Aalto University
  • Jordan Siegel, University of Michigan
  • Stephanie Wang, Indiana University
  • Michael Witt, King’s College London

The Consortium offers structured and informal discussion between participants and faculty panelists on research, job opportunities, publishing, and early-stage career strategies. A substantial amount of time is also set-aside for dissertation development, featuring one-on-one feedback from faculty in small groups. This is an excellent opportunity to receive valuable feedback on your work, as well as a chance to network and get to know your fellow doctoral students and leading scholars in the International Management field. Participants will also be invited to a “Meet-the-Editors” session later on the same day.

To apply, please submit your application materials to 2025 Doctoral Student Consortium files upload by May 12, 2025. You can contact the DSC Co-Chairs Marie-Ann Betschinger (marie-ann.betschinger@hec.ca) or Charlie Stevens (charles.stevens@rutgers.edu) should you have any questions. We will inform all applicants about their admission to the DSC by June 2, 2025
