Call for Applications [JFC]
IM Division Junior Faculty Consortium (JFC) 2024
Co-Chairs:
Joao Albino-Pimentel (University of South Carolina) and
Srividya Jandhyala (ESSEC)
The International Management (IM) Division will hold its annual Junior Faculty Consortium (JFC), during this year’s Academy of Management Meeting in Chicago. This half-day, in-person event will take place on Sunday, August 11th, 2024. The deadline to apply is Monday, 10th June 2024
The IM Division JFC is designed for junior and early career scholars who have defended their dissertations in the last 1-5 years and are building their academic careers in the IM field. The consortium provides a unique opportunity for junior faculty to engage in conversations around critical issues of their careers, research, publishing, teaching and service with leading IM scholars from around the world and with their peers.
The consortium will include a combination of structured panels on multiple themes, roundtable discussions on pressing issues, and informal interactions. Notably, we will discuss the challenges and opportunities of an academic career in IM, how to prepare for tenure or confirmation, the steps to building a scholarly reputation, how to develop a research/publishing strategy for a more significant impact on the field, and how to maintain a healthy balance between research, teaching, and service. The JFC will conclude with a “Meet-the-Editors” session, which will provide an invaluable opportunity to hear directly from Editors of some of the leading journals in the IM field.
The 2024 IM Division JFC will be chaired by Joao Albino-Pimentel (University of South Carolina) and Srividya Jandhyala (ESSEC).
The faculty mentors include:
- Heather Berry – Georgetown University
