world. Beyond our innovative curricular offerings, St. George’s University

The Department of Business mission is to deliver first-class education that
will enable our students to become successful business practitioners. We
aim to develop a reputation for offering a contemporary education in
business which caters to the diverse needs of a growing student population.
We strive to develop in our students a global orientation, an
entrepreneurial attitude, and a sense of responsibility and service to the
community. We offer a student-friendly internationally diverse environment
that allows our students the chance to experience many cultures within the
campus environs. We are positioned as the only institution in the Caribbean
that strives to meet the most rigorous international standards while still
offering small class sizes and accessible faculty.
Key features of the business degree programs include the mandatory foreign
languages component, the business internships and the core curriculum which
is geared to develop proficiency in all aspects of business. In the era of
globalization, foreign language proficiency is a critical tool for business
success. The business internship, which can be done domestically,
regionally or internationally allows the student to gain practical
experience in his/her chosen career. It also enables the student to gain
confidence in his/her skills, while establishing valuable contacts and
acquiring work experience for future endeavors. The core curriculum
features accounting, finance, ethics, quantitative skills, international
business, economics, business communications, business law, marketing,
organizational behavior, strategic management and operations management.
