    Tenure Track Faculty Position in International Business

     

    The Robert G. Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in international business.  Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor rank.  The position is available beginning fall 2015 and is subject to final budget approval by the President of the University. 

     

    The Merrick School of Business is accredited by AACSB International and enrolls approximately 2,000 students in its seven undergraduate and graduate programs, of which 850 are graduate students.  The University of Baltimore is part of the University System of Maryland and has four academic units: Merrick School of Business, School of Law, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Public Affairs.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses, conduct high quality research, and provide service to the University and The Merrick School.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in international business from AACSB accredited institution. ABDs will be considered if program completion is expected by June 30, 2015. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence and have strong potential for research productivity. 

    SALARY:

    Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

    POSITION IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT / INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

     Full-time, tenure-eligible position available in the Department of Management at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate will teach courses in Strategic Management and International Business at the undergraduate and/or graduate (MBA) level. The position will begin in August 2018.

     RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level (MBA) courses; engaging in research leading to journal publications and other scholarly output; serving on faculty committees and other committees; participating in other appropriate service and professional activities. The teaching load will consist of a minimum of 6 hours per semester-typically this is a 2 course/semester assignment.

     QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must hold an earned doctorate (PhD or DBA) from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited college of business in the field of Management or a closely related area. Applicants at an advanced stage of their doctoral studies (ABD) will be considered with demonstrated capability of completing degree requirements before the effective date of appointment. Candidates must demonstrate research potential and be able to present evidence of teaching and classroom effectiveness. Additional required qualifications are excellent oral and written communication skills and successful experience with diverse populations. The Barton School values previous professional or management experience, especially with respect to innovation and commercialization that is consistent with the strategic direction of Wichita State University.

     SALARY: AACSB competitive, dependent upon qualifications. Summer research support may be available on a competitive basis.
