    Pushing the Boundaries of Nonmarket Strategies


    I would like to provide you with more information about this preconference session, Saturday, 9:00 -12:00 p.m at the Loews Hotel, Washington A.

    The first part of the preconference consists of political incubators developed by several leading scholars in the field and a chance for participants to engage in indepth conversations with the facilitators.

    Jean-Philippe Bonardi, University of Western Ontario will discuss nonmarket resources and asset freezing, further delineating how nonmarket resources differ from market resources.

    John De Figueiredo, UCLA, will look more extensively at the issues of integrated market and nonmarket strategies.

    Gerry Keim, Arizona State University, will discuss the role that key stakeholders play in terms of political advocacy. He will look at how stakeholders can constrain or enhance corporate political effectiveness.

    Witold Henisz, Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, will introduce a new source of data for nonmarket research based on natural language parsing.

    The second part of the conference will consist of breakout sessions to discuss six specific papers that have been selected through a competitive process. Everyone is welcome to participate in these sessions, there are three general topics that will be discussed.

    Integrated Market/Nonmarket Strategy
