    The Leadership and Leadership Development SIG of the British Academy of
    Management is organizing a

    Workshop on Leadership & Stress Management. Latest Research & practical
    Advice

    on 22 June 2010 in London, UK


    On behalf of the Leadership and Leadership Development SIG we are inviting
    you to contribute to the Leadership and Stress Management Workshop on 22
    June in London.

    The target group for this workshop are not only academics interested in
    leadership, well-being and stress management but also practitioners who want
    to know more about the topic.

    For the morning we invite researchers to present their latest research on
    leadership, well-being and stress management.

    The afternoon will be more practical. We are looking for researchers and
    practitioners who can talk about managing stress for individuals but also
    about ways for line managers, Executives and HR to deal with the stress of
    their employees and contribute to employee well-being.


    SUBMISSIONS:

    Scholars and practitioners interested in leadership, well-being and stress
    management are invited to make submissions for consideration.

    Speakers in the morning are given 15 minutes for presentation + time for
    questions and answers.

    Speakers in the afternoon will have 1 hour each to conduct interactive
    sessions with practical discussions, exercises, recommendations etc.

    SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

    Each submission will be subject to a review process. All submissions should
    be made by the 30th April 2010.

    Decisions will be conveyed to contributors in the week commencing 3rd May
    2010. Please note that at least one presenter for each submission must
    register before 20th May 2010 for the submission to be included in the
    workshop programme.

    Keynote Speaker:

    Professor Adrian Furnham, University College London, UK

    Adrian Furnham was educated at the London School of Economics where he
    obtained a distinction in an MSc Econ., and at Oxford University where he
    completed a doctorate
    (DPhil) in 1981. He has subsequently earned a DSc (1991) and DLitt (1995)
    degree.

    Previously a lecturer in Psychology at Pembroke College, Oxford, he is now
    Professor of Psychology at University College London. He has lectured widely
    abroad and held
    scholarships and visiting professorships at, amongst others, the University
    of New South Wales, the University of the West Indies and the University of
    Hong Kong.

    He has written over 650 scientific papers and 48 books. Professor Furnham is
    a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and is ranked the second most
    productive psychologist in the world since 1980. He is on the editorial
    board of a number of international journals, as well as the current elected
    President of the International Society for the Study of Individual
    Differences.

    He is also a founder director of Applied Behavioural Research Associates
    (ABRA), a psychological consultancy. He writes regularly for the Sunday
    Times and the Daily Telegraph and is a regular contributor to BBC radio and
    television.
