Journal of Management Education
CALL FOR PROPOSALS – 2019 SPECIAL ISSUE
The Journal of Management Education is accepting proposals for 2019 Special Issue consideration. The deadline for submission of proposals is January 15, 2018.
Special Issues provide an opportunity for JME to focus attention on a topical theme or particular area within management education. Recent special issues have addressed Introduction to Management Courses (JME 41:6, 2017), Behavioral Ethics (JME 41:4, 2017), and Women's Leadership Development Programs (JME 40:3, 2016). A special issue on Management in Turbulent Times is forthcoming in 2018.
A Special Issue proposal should include
• Contact information, including phone, e-mail, and postal addresses of all Guest Editors.
• Background of all Guest Editors with respect to the proposed topic and previous editorial experience with JME and elsewhere.
• 500 - 1000 word overview of the proposed theme with description of significant work in the domain and existing gaps in our understanding of the topic and its relevance to management education.
• Potential themes for authors to explore within each of JME's sections (Conceptual/Theoretical/Research, Essays, and Instructional Innovations).
• Plans for circulating a Call for Papers beyond the Call's publication in JME and on the OBTS-L discussion listserv.
• A timeline from acceptance of the Special Issue proposal including initial submission deadline, revise & resubmit processing, and final papers completion.
• A draft Call for Papers
JME's Co-Editors work with the Guest Editors to coordinate reviewers and review processing, with all papers being reviewed by at least one JME Editorial Board member or experienced reviewer. Guest Editors are expected to have some editorial experience, including publishing in and/or reviewing for JME, and a commitment to maintaining the developmental approach and publishing integrity of the journal.
Please direct all inquiries to the Co-Editors, Kathy Lund Dean and Jeanie Forray, at editors@mobts.org. Questions to and conversations with the Co-Editors prior to submitting a special issue proposal is encouraged. All proposals are considered by the Co-Editors and Associate Editors.
Special issue proposals should be submitted to editor@mobts.org by the deadline noted above.
