    POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

    The Department of International Business (School of Business) at the
    George Washington University invites applications for a junior faculty
    position beginning academic year 2007-2008.

    JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS
    We are seeking candidates to teach a range of International Business (IB)
    courses in our undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral programs, as well as
    conduct high-quality IB research.

    Basic Qualifications: Applicants must complete all degree requirements for
    the Ph.D by August 1, 2007, to be appointed as an assistant professor.
    ABDs expecting to finish their doctorate by August 1, 2007, will be
    considered, and if hired, will initially receive a conditional appointment
    at the rank of Instructor, but the Ph.D. must be completed by the end of
    the first academic year of appointment. Applicants must also demonstrate
    commitment and ability/potential to conduct high-quality scholarly
    research publishable in top-tier outlets, on topics important to
    International Business, as evidenced by publications in scholarly
    journals, scholarly works-in-progress, or recommendations by respected
    scholars as research references. Applicants must also demonstrate
    teaching excellence as indicated by teaching letters of recommendation,
    presentations, or teaching assessments.

    Additional Qualifications: Successful applicants will have an ability and
    desire to work effectively with a diverse community, as well as excellent
    communication skills. The George Washington University and the IB

    The GW IB department is one of the few freestanding IB departments in the
    US, with 13 full time faculty members. We take pride in our research
    record, with recent publications in journals such as Academy of Management
    Journal, Academy of Management Review, International Marketing Review,
    Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Marketing, Review of
    Financial Studies, and Strategic Management Journal.
