Dear colleagues,
My personal apology for cross-posting.
I wanted to bring to your attention that, due to a irresolvable scheduling clash, the PDW session # 159: The Effects of Education and Training on Cultural Intelligence, will 'fold into' another, related, PDW Session # 169: Cultural Intelligence in the Global Leadership Context. Both sessions are scheduled for exactly the same time: Saturday, Aug. 8th, 8:00 -11:00 am.
We decided to take this course of action because both PDWs are the only two focused on cultural intelligence. This schedule-clash is even more surprising since two of the sponsoring divisions (OB and HR) are the same for both PDWs. Given that the CQ-Leadership PDW is considerably broader in scope and involves many more presenters than our more specifically-themed PDW and since there is clearly a large overlap in the topics covered by these two PDWs, which means that they would attract the same group of conference goers, after consulting with the chairs of the PDW session # 169 who offered us to have a dedicated round-table to discuss our project with interested participants, we decided it would be best to join forces.
To sum, we will not be holding our PDW as a separate workshop; rather, it will be combined with the larger CQ PDW (#169). We believe this would be the best solution for all stakeholders.
Please note: the CQ and Global Leadership PDW requires pre-registration. To register, please visit https://secure.aomonline.org/PDWReg. The deadline to register is July 10, 2009.
