MARIE CURIE EARLY STAGE RESEARCHER TRAINING IN INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT--
Short term stay
The University of St. Gallen for Business Administration, Economics, Law
and Social Science (HSG) is one of the Swiss and Europe's leading research
schools in economic science and it is proud to have a rigorous and high
quality doctoral programme. The Research Institute for International
Management at the University of St. Gallen (FIM-HSG,
www.fim.unisg.ch) is
among one of the first Swiss Institutes which successfully applied to
become a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher Training Site (scheme funded
by the European Community) in 2004.
The Research Institute for International Management is now inviting
applications for Marie Curie Fellowships--six month short term stay for
2006. We seek to provide the research training for young researchers with
less than four years of research experience. We have one place available
for the academic year 2006/2007 starting October 2006 and another place
available for the academic year 2007/2008 starting October 2007. A stay of
three month would also be considered. Qualified students can also pursue a
doctoral degree at our school after the completion of the fellowship.
Application for the position in 2006/2007 should be received by April
30th, 2006.
AREAS OF RESEARCH TRAINING
Research training will be provided in the broad area of international
management. Specifically, the research training area investigates human
diversity in terms of nationality at various organisational levels (top
management teams, corporate boards, task forces, project teams) and its
effects on group dynamics and organisational outcomes. Training will
include a broad range of research methods, both quantitative and
qualitative methods.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FELLOWSHIPS
The Research Institute for International Management offers the possibility
to Marie Curie early stage researcher to work under the supervision of
Prof. Dr. Winfried Ruigrok. The Marie Curie fellows will join with a very
active and dynamic group of international students and conduct research in
multinational teams.
For fellows in the very early stage of their research, they will
participate in three or four doctoral research seminars at the University
of St.Gallen. Furthermore, fellows can take additional training courses
within or outside the school in order to meet their individual training
needs. For fellow in the later stages of their research, they will conduct
empirical research under the supervision of Prof. Ruigrok. Each fellow
will receive systematic support through regular meetings with the
supervisor and the existing research group.
Fellows will be employed as research assistants at the Research Institute
for International Management. They are expected to contribute to ongoing
education, research and executive activities, carried out at the
institute.
The fellowships provide a generous salary to the fellow.
