    Walter et al.,

I found a lot of information and comparisons on the web when I was
researching software for qualitative reserach. Some keywords are
"Qualitative Data Analysis Software" or "Computer Assisted Qualitative
Data Analysis" (put them in quotes in Google so the search engine will
treat the entire phrase as a search term). For starters, see, for
    example, http://www.audiencedialogue.org/soft-qual.html and
    http://caqdas.soc.surrey.ac.uk/ChoosingLewins&SilverV5July06.pdf.

The software can be tricky to learn to use, so I recommend that you
invest in a training program--the time you save, compared to trying to
figure it out yourself, will make the investment well worth while. But,
if you can't do that, at least some of the companies (like the Atlas.ti
    folks) have good on-line tutorials.

Having done a text-based research project using Word and then an
interview-based one (my dissertation) using Atlas.ti, I highly recommend
getting the specialized software. It would be even more valuable for
    team research.

Here is a link on the programs for qualitative software analysis: http://www.qsrinternational.com/index.htm. Also, my dissertation method discussed the appropriateness of such software. If you are interested, let me know and I'll email you a copy of it.

    Josh,

I think that Atlas.ti (a program developed at a German university) can
handle it if you have the Chinese version of WIN.  Check out
    http://www.atlasti.com/.
