    Local Academic Correspondent:
    Prof. Bernard Paranque
Director of the Master in Management Programme

The 1st Annual EuroMed Conference of the EuroMed Research Business Institute
(EMRBI) has two goals.  The first is to provide a global platform for
different academic and professional approaches (i.e. multidisciplinary
approach, case studies, etc) and discussions on recent managerial and
entrepreneurial developments in this turbulent region and the world. The
second goal is to provide the opportunity for young scholars, practitioners
and PhD students to have their work reviewed, encouraged and commented on
within a supportive academic and professional community of colleagues from
different international contexts (please, find more details in the internet
    site:
    www.emrbi.com).

The EuroMed Research Business Institute (EMRBI) is an international
institution, with country directors in all the main countries of the region
being supported by an advisory board of scholars from such leading
universities as Harvard, INSEAD, Duke, and others. The EuroMed Journal of
Business (the official Journal of EMRBI) will consider for publications
papers that meet its academic standards and will launch a special issue
based on the best papers submitted to this conference. Our internet site
    (
    www.emrbi.com) provides full details.

Symposium and Professional Development Workshops (PDW)

The EuroMed Professional Development Workshops (PDWs) or Symposiums are a
platform for colleagues to share knowledge and expertise and foster the
professional development of workshop participants.  It is also an
opportunity to develop innovative and creative workshops with the view of
enriching participants and generate a high standard scholarly gathering. Our
goal is to have sessions that encourage new thoughts and innovative research
directions. The submission should not exceed three pages and be submitted by
at least five scholars whose participation would be necessary. Our internet
    site provides more details.

    DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM

The EuroMed First Conference (2008) Doctoral Consortium provides an
opportunity for doctoral students representing all areas of business to
explore their research interests in a unique interdisciplinary and
interactive workshop with a panel of distinguished research faculty. Full
description of the objectives of the 2008 Consortium, selective criteria and
eligibility for EMRBI award appear in the internet site. Abstracts will be
    published in the conference proceedings.

Participants of the Mergers and Acquisition PhD SEMINAR that follows the
conference (Marseille, November, 19-20) will be exempted from the conference
    registration fees.
