Greetings (and our apologies for potential cross-postings),

As you are planning for the Academy meeting in Anaheim, we hope that you
consider getting up early on Sunday morning to attend our PDW: Asking the
Same Questions, but Getting Different Answers: Diverse Perspectives on
    Interorganizational Relationships (IORs).

Although scholars have been researching interorganizational relationships
like marketing alliances, international R&D collaborations, and long term
supply agreements for over 25 years, many definitional and conceptual issues
remain ambiguous. We believe this is because while we apparently are asking
the same questions (e.g., “What is an alliance and why do firms do them?”,
“What mechanisms do firms use to benefit from IORs?”, “How do firms manage
multiple relationships?”), our diverse disciplinary and theoretical
approaches can make it difficult to understand each others’ frameworks,
aggregate our findings, and build on others’ work. Our goal of this PDW is
to illuminate these differences, explore similarities, and investigate new
    research directions.

We will have a diverse and esteemed group of scholars on hand to discuss
these issues, including TK Das, Pierre Dussauge, Steve Michael, Jeff Reuer,
    Bernard Simonin, and Shaker Zahra.

We hope you will join us, too. Our session will be from 8am – 10am in 211B
    of the Anaheim Convention Center.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

    Warm Regards,
Miguel Rivera-Santos (Babson College) and Anne Parmigiani (U. of Oregon),
