Dear Members of the Academy,

Do you want to help increase inclusion in the Academy? If so, please consider volunteering for the Diversity and Inclusion Theme Committee (D&ITC).  The D&ITC is charged with helping to ensure that the Academy fully supports and leverages the scholarly contributions of its diverse members and contributes to their professional development.   We are actively seeking new members and executive committee members to help design and implement the DITC's initiatives and programs to achieve its goals and objectives.

The founding committee is comprised of Bernardo Ferdman (Chair), Eddy Ng (PDW Chair), Christina Stamper (Incoming PDW Chair), Lynn Shore (Past Chair), Yvonne Benschop (Best Practices Chair), Patrick McKay (Metrics Chair), Isabel Metz (Communications Director), Stella Nkomo (Ambassador-at-Large), and Quinetta Roberson (Inaugural/Past Chair). 

Committee members will actively participate on various projects such as the on-going inclusion survey, facilitate best practices workshops at annual meetings, organize the Connections Café, and prepare newsletters including social media communication for dissemination to all members of the Academy.  We also hope that some new members will take on leadership roles in the committee.

In the committee, we strive for a culture of inclusion, and encourage everyone with an interest in creating a more inclusive Academy-regardless of teaching interest, home division, and the like-as well as those with particular expertise regarding diversity and inclusion to participate and help shape an inclusive future for the Academy.
