JOIN PETER SENGE AND COLLEAGUES FOR A THOUGHT-PROVOKING PDW ENTITLED INNER PEACE-GLOBAL IMPACT: MINDFULNESS IN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT DAY & TIME: Saturday, 10:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Sheraton Boston, in Back Bay Ballroom C Do you want to be more mindful in your leadership, consulting, teaching? Are you already aiming to understand and draw on the interdependence between inner peace and societal change? The panelists for the PDW are internationally-respected leaders, educators, and consultants who have cultivated awareness personally for years and led or facilitated systemic change. We expect vivid personal stories as well as thoughtful analysis. They will discuss the interdependence of contemplative practices and societal action, the importance of mind training for leaders, and how these practices enable leaders to reframe difficult issues and shift the environment in the workplace. We will explore how to incorporate mindfulness or awareness practices into leadership development, both in the university and within corporate settings. Breakouts will allow everyone to participate actively. Among our questions are: "What enables leaders to bring presence and consciousness to their challenges and introduce healthier paths for resolving current issues at the corporate, societal, or global levels?" "How do meditation and other awareness practices build capacity for responding intelligently to difficult systemic change challenges?" "How do you see incorporating mindfulness training or other contemplative practices into leadership development?" and "How can spiritual traditions help us learn about developing leadership capacity for effective action?" Scholar BILL TORBERT, Novartis executive SUBHANU SAXENA, and consultants PETER SENGE and SUSAN SKJEI explore impact of mindfulness for leadership, facilitated by KATHRYN GOLDMAN SCHUYLER Sponsored by PTC, MSR, ODC, IM, MC, SAP
