Dear Friends, We hope this email finds you well! We?d like to bring your attention to an Alumni Reunion for Chinese Management Scholars Workshop during the AOM in San Antonio. On Saturday, August 13, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., we will hold the alumni reunion at Marriott Rivercenter Salon E. This event will consist of two parts. The first part will run from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It will take the format of a round-table discussion. Participants can choose to join the tables at which their particular areas of interest are being discussed. The discussion topics include such themes as: dissertation preparation, job searches, research collaboration, teaching, and tenure packages. The second part of the alumni reunion (8:30 p.m.-10 p.m.) will consist of a panel discussion. Given the theme of this year?s Academy meeting (?West meets East: Enlightening, Balancing, and Transcending?), we will organize a panel session around the topic of ?Cooperation and Competition among Leading Asian Business Schools.? The confirmed panelists are: -Dean Leonard Cheng (School of Business and Management, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) -Dean Yingyi Qian (School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University) -Dean Kwei Tang (College of Commerce, National Chengchi University) -Dean Bernard Yeung (NUS Business School, National University of Singapore) Professor Jing Zhou of Rice University has kindly agreed to serve as the moderator of the panel; participants will share their insights about opportunities for collaboration among top Asian business schools, as well as the potential for competition in recruiting talent, and in other areas. Alumni will have the chance to interact with the panelists as well as among themselves. This Alumni Reunion will be conducted in Chinese. Please help to spread the news about it by forwarding this message to other Chinese colleagues (students and faculty) whom you think might be interested in it. If you have any suggested topics for round-table discussion or questions about the event, please feel free to contact chinesescholarworkshop@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest and help. Have a productive and pleasant summer, and we look forward to seeing you in San Antonio! Best wishes, Organizing Committee: Qing Cao (University of Connecticut: Qing.Cao@business.uconn.edu) Sheng-Tsung Hou (Fen Chia University: Samuel.hou@gmail.com) Brian Wu (University of Michigan: wux@umich.edu) Haibin Yang (City University of Hong Kong: haibin@cityu.edu.hk) Tieying Yu (Boston College: tieying.yu@bc.edu) Organizing Committee:
