    Paper development workshop:

Advancing Research Ideas On International Strategic Alliances

Sponsors: IM (primary) * STR * TIM

    Application deadline:  June 15, 2019

Intended as a kind of 'save-the-dates' announcement, we want to provide here early information about the PDW, its organizers and facilitators as well as the timeline as to allow for your preparation.

The Paper Development Workshop (PDW) will be held in Boston, Massachusetts most likely on Friday 9th or on Saturday 10th of August 2019 (exact scheduling to be confirmed when the official program is released) as part of the pre-conference program for the Academy of Management (AOM) annual meeting. Its primary aim is to provide participants with developmental feedback on their current research papers and facilitate the further development of high quality papers on international strategic alliances with a special interest of directing participants towards focusing on aspects unique to an international setting as well as on practical, conceptual, and methodological developments that affect strategic alliances at large.

The final structure of the PDW will depend on the time allocated to it by the sponsoring AOM divisions in due time. In any case, the main focus will be on how to improve the research papers that have been accepted by the workshop organizers and facilitators, so as to increase the probability of acceptance by a leading management journal.

Only a limited number of manuscripts (each applicant should submit only one paper) will be accepted for the PDW. Participants will be invited based on the quality, i.e., scientific rigor and relevance of their submitted work. Submitted papers should be less than 10,000 words in length, and follow commonly accepted style guides. They should be submitted via an online submission system we will establish in due time or via email to farok@andromeda.rutgers.edu and michael.nippa@unibz.it with the subject heading "AOM PDW 2019 ISA". The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2019 in the authors' time zone.

Please note that authors will need to register for the AOM annual conference in order to participate in the PDW. Also note that other pre-conference workshops and consortia may run in parallel.
