Stream topics:
In this stream we call for papers that address two separate but related issues relevant to critical studies in the field of International Business (IB). Both respond to what we see as the myopic focus of mainstream IB literature and teaching models on multinational companies (MNCs),
and on the normalization of their managerial models. First, we invite papers that expand our theoretical understanding of conflict between different groups of stakeholders within and around MNCs – conflicts that challenge the dominant paradigm. Second, we call for papers that engage with other forms of IB, outside the domain of the MNC – largely excluded from the literature.
Please refer to the attachment for more information on each theme.
Submission Instructions
Intending contributors to the stream will have the option of submitting extended abstracts for consideration by the convenors, or full papers for double-blind peer review. The stream will be supported by a special issue of the journal Critical Perspectives on International Business (CPoIB), to which selected papers will be invited. Those papers accepted from abstracts for the stream will be required to undergo peer review for the special issue.
The deadline for submission is 30 November 2010. Abstracts should be maximum 1000 words, excluding references, in MS Word or compatible format. Full papers should be 5-7000 words, excluding references, and should follow the format of the journal Critical Perspectives on International Business (see: http://info.emeraldinsight.com/products/journals/author_guidelines.htm?PHPSESSID=rco2etl2e21bghq0h62ma78p01&id=cpoib).
Submissions should be sent to the relevant theme coordinators:
Theme 1: florian.br@gmx.de, susanne.blazejewski@alanus.edu, or doerrenbaecher@hwr-berlin.de
Theme 2: george.cairns@rmit.edu.au, murphyj3@Cardiff.ac.uk, or rafael.alcadipani@fgv.br.
Prospective contributors are welcome to liaise with the stream organizers before the submission date to discuss the suitability of their work for this symposium/publication.
