The Case for Building Biotechnology is designed to be a companion volume to the fourth edition of Building Biotechnology, with original cases that address the above issues.  While these cases will parallel the areas highlighted in Building Biotechnology, they can also be used as stand-alone cases.  Target markets for both books include programs in areas such as the management of technology, technology commercialization, related Professional Science Masters degrees, biomedical engineering, technology entrepreneurship, consulting and strategic management.  Certain cases may also provide insights into intellectual property law, federal regulation, acquisitions and valuation, team building, technology transfer and licensing, among other topics.   These cases will differ from standard business cases in that they will, as appropriate, provide background in the science of the industry and issue(s) addressed in the case.
