| Themes and topics Emerging Markets in an Interdependent World: <st1:country-region w:st="on">India</st1:country-region> and <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">China</st1:country-region></st1:place> Rapid changes in the global economy present continuing challenges for educators, as well as for business and government leaders. The political and economic rules are changing due to such developments as acceptance of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">China</st1:country-region></st1:place> into the WTO and ever stronger regional cooperation, the advent of e-business, the widespread use of the Internet, and challenges in governance and corporate behavior. Strategic alliances, networks and partnerships span political, sectoral and geographical borders. These changes are occurring across a variety of functional borders. The objective of this conference is to provide a forum for scholars analyzing the strategic challenges faced by firms in the global arena. In addition, cross-disciplinary submissions are encouraged. Examples of areas of interest We welcome proposals for panel discussions, papers and/or cases from scholars focusing on the challenges and issues presented by the ever increasing interdependency among world economies. Special Session topics suggested and organized by participants are also welcome. Submissions will be double-blind reviewed, acceptance being based on quality and relevance. A select group of submissions will be considered for publication in the Journal of International Business and Economy. Awards Awards will be given to the best competitive paper and the best case study based upon the recommendation of a committee of reviewers. Articles based upon dissertations are encouraged.
