Colleagues
I am now developing a session proposal with Dr. Agata Stachowicz-Stanusch of the Politechnika Śląska, Poland, and Dr. Olivia Hernández Pozas of the EGADE Business School, Mexico, for the Academy of Management meeting in Chicago (August 10-14, 2018) entitled Improving Student Lives Through International Teaching Collaborations. If you join this, you will give a brief presentation to one of several roundtables, which will be on various teaching subtopics. Each of the roundtables will report key points from their presentations and discussion to the larger session. The session will include open discussion of which contributions best reflect the conference theme of Improving Lives. We want brief (about 10-minute) presentations on current, past, and prospective international collaborations in management education. This session is sort of a networking event to the extent that past such sessions have sparked many very successful international teaching (and related research) collaborations.
If you are interested in joining us in this submissions as a presenter, please provide us with the following information so we might review your proposal and see if it aligns with the aims and quality criteria of our professional development workshop (PDW):
1. Your name as you want it listed on the program.
2. An about 50-word overview of the type international collaborations you are interested in. Provide a list of the sort of topical areas that you are interested in related to these. For example, global virtual team projects etc.
3. Your institutional affiliation as you want it listed on the program. Please use the form "Harvard U." rather than "Harvard Business School.
4. Your email address that you wish to have listed on the program. If this is different from the one you wish to communicate with us through, please explain that.
5. The phone number you wish to have us submit to the AOM for this submission.
6. The physical mailing address that you wish to have us include for you in the submission, if requested.
7. If you are an AOM member now or not let us know. We can enter members into our submission quite easily by linking to their existing membership record in the conference submission process.
8. Though we will not submit them to the AOM, we would appreciate your providing us with additional phone numbers in case you are not at your office when we call. These might include your mobile, home, and/or Skype numbers.
9. Please let us know what international teaching collaboration issues related to the session you would like to discuss there. You can describe these at whatever length you wish.
10. We need your commitment that you will attend and present at this session if it is accepted and that you are not in violation of the rule of being in a maximum of three PDW submissions. (Beyond those three you are allowed an additional three on the main program).
11. If you are on LinkedIn, please add Charles Wankel using his wankelc@verizon.net email. This will provide enduring contact information into the future for us.
Send your response for this session to: wankelc@verizon.net (In the subject field put "Proposal for presentation in Improving Student Lives Through International Teaching Collaborations PDW")
