    CALL FOR PAPERS

    4th International Conference

INNOVATION IN MANAGEMENT: THE CUTTING EDGE IN AN EPOCH OF GLOBAL COLLABORATION

    May 21-22, 2009 - Poznan, Poland

The 4th International Innovation in Management Conference "The Cutting Edge of Business in an Epoch of Global Collaboration" is organized by the Poznan University College of Business and Foreign Languages in cooperation with the Innovative Management Institute, the Global Management Institute, the Canadian-Polish Management Institute, the Human Resource Ambassador of the Academy of Management for Poland, the ING Bank, and the Swiss Chamber of Commerce.

Brief proposals are invited, as well as full papers, for presentation in topical sessions, roundtable format panels, symposium format panels, and asynchronous online poster presentations with interactive asynchronous discussion.  SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY JANUARY 20, 2009, although we will endeavor to respond within a few days of your submission, even if much earlier than the deadline, through an agile review and decision process.  That is we will have a rolling review and acceptance/rejection procedure.  All accepted presentations and papers will be published as either long abstracts or full papers in an impressive PROCEEDINGS BOOK.

We are inviting scholars and practitioners to submit papers, roundtable discussion proposals, and posters for presentations related to the conference theme of cooperating globally. The topics include, but are not limited to:

    ·         Innovative management education and practice with a focus on the use of new technologies, particularly for international collaborations (main conference topic)
    ·         Global and regional economic, finance, and accounting issues
    ·         Human resources management and diversity management
    ·         Communication, media, government, and stakeholder relations
    ·         Organizational challenges and crisis management
    ·         International business
    ·         Strategic management
    ·         Logistics, supply chain, and operations management
    ·         Marketing and entrepreneurship
    ·         Information technology and knowledge management
    ·         Law and regulations
    ·         Healthcare management
    ·         Tourism and hospitality management
    ·         Business ethics and social responsibility

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION (All submissions are refereed):

    ·         Electronic submissions are required in either PDF or Word format. E-mail your abstract, full paper, panel or roundtable proposal to the Conference Chairs at imconference@pwsbijo.pl  and wankelc@stjohns.edu by January 20, 2009.  This being the 21st century we promise an agile reviewing decision typically in a few days, but in all cases by March 10, 2009. Please clarify for us how quick a response you desire.
    ·         Abstracts may be from 100 to 600 words in length.  Full papers should be a maximum of 10,000 words including references and exhibits (an exhibit should be counted as 250 words).
    ·         Submissions should include: A separate title page which clearly indicates the name(s) of the presenting author(s) and other co-author(s), affiliation(s), complete mailing address(es), phone numbers and email address(es) and the title of the paper; A track number; and up to four key words that describe the paper.  Though not required, providing your mobile phone number would be appreciated given the problematic aspects of contacting academics in their offices at times.
    ·         The text of the full paper, abstract or proposal must include the title, but should not include the name(s) of the author(s) as papers will be blind reviewed.
    ·         Special scheduling requests (dates or times) must be made at time of paper submission.
    ·         The language for presentations at the conference will be English.  However, full papers in other languages will be acceptable for publication in the proceedings book.  However the submission should be either in English language abstract or other English language form of the paper.

We provide details on meeting registration and accommodation choices in Poznan on our conference website http://www.imconference.eu .  Poznan has a large and stunning old square with outdoor cafes and scrumptious Central European cuisine.  Its environs are marked by interesting castles.  Poznan is served by an international airport and is a three-hour trip by rail or auto from Berlin or Warsaw.
