    DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM

    10th International Conference of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management

    December, 7, 2007, New Orleans, Lousiana (USA)


    Dear colleagues,

    We are pleased to announce a doctoral consortium at the 10th International  Conference of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management. We have prepared an exciting program of interest for both doctoral students and junior faculty scholars.

    The tentative program schedule is:


    10:00 – 10:15. Introductions and Presentations


    10:15 – 12:00. Round tables

        a- Publish your dissertation. How to prepare for life after your dissertation--the publishing challenge.

        b- Careers. Discuss different career possibilities (teaching vs research, administrative task), in different contexts (Latin America vs US or Europe/Spain/Portugal) with senior and junior scholars.


    13:30 – 15:30. Present your research and receive feedback.

                    Research presentations will take place in a small group format, allowing for more direct feedback


    16:00 – 18:00. CARMA session with Prof. Larry Williams.

    CARMA, the Consortium for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis, is an interdisciplinary consortium devoted to helping faculty, graduate students and professionals learn about current developments in various areas of research methods and statistics. Prof. Williams, who established CARMA in 1997, is the Director of Survey Research and Methodology Program, Donald and Shirley Clifton Chair of Survey Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

    Attendants have to register and pay for the conference in order to attend.
