Call for Papers - Conflict Management in Latin America

    International Journal of Conflict Management

The International Journal of Conflict Management publishes research on conflict management including original theoretical and empirical articles (which may be either quantitative or qualitative) and critical or integrative literature reviews relevant to the substantive domains served by the journal, including:

    • Conflict   • Conflict management   • Dispute resolution   • Fairness   • Justice   • Mediation and arbitration

    • Negotiation   • Peace studies   • Related topics

Scholarship from the Latin American countries has been historically underrepresented in our field. We would like to encourage more scholarship from this region of the world. Therefore, this special issue will be dedicated to publishing research from Latin America. We define Latin America broadly to include a region with a diverse set of languages, cultures, and peoples. It includes territories in the Americas where Spanish or Portuguese languages are most commonly spoken. This includes: Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. This region might also be referred to as Hispanic America and Brazil, or Iberoamerica.

Manuscripts that provide theoretical insight regarding conflict management topics related to the cultures and peoples in this region are encouraged. In addition, manuscripts that are authored or coauthored by scholars in this region are encouraged.

Thoughtful analyses about conflict management that spurs thoughtful reflections about the past, present, and future directions of conflict management research in Latin America are encouraged. New insights, creative solutions, and innovative ideas as well scholarship that takes us in new directions is strongly encouraged.  Studies using a variety of methodological techniques are encouraged including (but not limited to): meta-analyses, literature reviews, laboratory studies, field studies, case studies, survey research, and analyses of archival data. Articles focused solely on a review of the literature and new theory development are also welcome, as are papers that present novel approaches to conflict management in this region.

Manuscripts should focus on the following criteria: Use clear exposition, be technically adequate; make a theoretical contribution (e.g., testing, creating, or extending theory); make an empirical contribution; be innovative, interesting, and novel; or have potential implications for practice.
