With apologies for cross-posting:
We are excited to announce that the 2010 New Doctoral Student Consortium (NDSC) will be held this August at the Academy of Management (AoM) annual conference in the historic city of Montreal, Quebec.
The NDSC is an invaluable resource to new Ph.D. students pursuing a degree in a management-related field. Through an intensive, one-day series of presentations, workshops, and networking events, the NDSC helps ease the transition for new students by sharing valuable information on the AoM annual conference experience, life as a doctoral student, and the general pursuit of a career in academia.
The NDSC provides participants a unique opportunity to interact with AoM division chairs and senior doctoral students, learn inside information on publishing, meet future collaborators and coauthors, make new friends, and engage in active discussions related to the students' academic goals. In just one day, doctoral students have the chance to be part of an extensive academic social network while learning and experiencing the potentials of becoming a management scholar!
We request your assistance in helping us to spread the word about the NDSC. Please forward, mention, or otherwise share this opportunity with incoming or new doctoral students.
The 2010 NDSC will be held on Saturday, August 7th, from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Other events associated with the NDSC include a Friday evening social at the Irish Embassy, starting at 6:30pm, and a Saturday evening reception after the Consortium. For more information, including registration details, please visit our website at http://group.aomonline.org/ndsc.
Please note, space is limited and registration is confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Last year we had an extensive waiting list. To ensure that they are not left out, please encourage students to register early. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via e-mail at ndsc.2010.montreal@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you in Montreal!
Regards,
New Doctoral Student Consortium Organizing Committee – 2010
