Place: Pau Business School, Pau, France
Submission deadline for papers: 30th June 2010

The ability of SMEs to internationalise is a crucial challenge to ensure long-term and sustainable growth and to face competition in a complex globalisation. However, few events have yet been fully dedicated to the large spectrum of the internationalisation of SMEs (iSMEs). Some start going global after a few years while others make globalisation the engine of their own development, known as the Born Global Firms. Through this international conference, we will explore the issues related to the internationalisation of SMEs. This Conference will address and discuss them not only from the theoretical, but also from the practical perspective. Eventually, we aim to promote and develop knowledge concerning the iSMEs in order to increase the competitiveness of small firms and contribute to their growth.
The goal of the iSME conference is to give more visibility and relevance to the iSMEs, reviewing current trends, new theories, latest experiences and exchanging best practices. The goal is to provide a forum of communication between researchers, practitioners, decision-makers and those concerned with the latest research, scientific development and practice on iSMEs. In addition to academic papers, case studies and papers with strong managerial implications will be given close attention.
The conference will focus on discussions mainly covering the following topics of interest but is not limited to them.
