    Job Opening: Director, Garvin Center for Cultures and Languages, Thunderbird School of Global Management

     

    Thunderbird School of Global Management, the world's no. 1 ranked graduate school of international management, is seeking a senior scholar for the position of director of the Garvin Center for Cultures and Languages.

     

    The Garvin Center for Cultures and Languages is the home to experts who teach cross cultural communication and negotiation courses, as well as courses in various languages.  Thunderbird's 2020 vision calls for the expansion of the Garvin Center's research and teaching portfolio.  We are seeking a new director who will:

    ·        Work with the scholars at the Garvin Center to develop a strategy for the Center that guides its expansion in line with Thunderbird's 2020 vision.

    ·        Enhance the research profile of the Center on topics related to cross cultural issues.

    ·        Work with the Development Office at Thunderbird to raise funds for the Garvin Center.

    ·        Enlarge the portfolio of courses offered by the Center.

    ·        Manage the administrative issues regarding faculty, staff, courses, students, and relations with other parts of Thunderbird.

    ·        Teach in degree or executive education programs.

     

    We are seeking a senior scholar who:

    ·        Has a Ph.D. in cross cultural communication, global negotiation, cross cultural management, or international studies, or related fields.

    ·        Has a successful track record of research in a relevant field and has a strong passion for research.

    ·        Is an effective teacher in degree and executive education programs.

    ·        Has a successful track record of collaboration.

    ·        Has had some level of successful administrative experience.
