Call for Participation
The AAoM Doctoral Consortium provides an opportunity for doctoral students to meet and interact with a panel of excellent researchers on Asian management issues on December 9-10, 2012, immediately preceding the Asia Academy of Management Conference. The participating scholars so far include Johngseok Bae (Korea University Business School), Michael Carney (Concordia University), James Davis (Utah State University), Andrew Delios (National University of Singapore), Susan Madsen (Utah Valley University), Riki Takeuchi (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology), George White III (Old Dominion University), Chi-sum Wong (Chinese University of Hong Kong) and Daphne Yiu (Chinese University of Hong Kong).
The doctoral consortium will start with a reception in the evening of December 9, 2012 (Sunday), followed by a full day of programs on December 10, 2012 (Monday). About 35 doctoral students will be invited to participate. Applicants who are selected will not be charged a fee for the doctoral consortium but are strongly encouraged to register for the Asia Academy of Management conference that will follow (December 10-12, 2012).
Doctoral students interested in participating in the doctoral consortium should submit a single PDF file consisting of:
1. An introductory letter in which you indicate what you wish to obtain from the doctoral consortium and what you will be bringing to the doctoral consortium.
2. A one page research statement on the research you will pursue. If you are at the doctoral dissertation stage, this statement should focus on the dissertation.
3. Your CV.
4. A letter of recommendation from your primary dissertation advisor, who should state what you can contribute as well as gain from the doctoral consortium.
Applicants should send the PDF file via email to the Doctoral Consortium Chair at rgalang@ateneo.edu by September 15, 2012. Your file should be named NAME.pdf, where NAME is your full name. An acknowledgement email will be sent to you and to your advisor.
