    Greetings IM Division Members and Friends!!  I wanted to make you aware of TWO position openings we have at the University of Texas Pan American (UTPA).  The job posting that appears on the Academy of Management Website is included below, but I wanted to get this out to the IM folks that might be interested or know of someone who might be.

    Assistant/Associate Professor of Management

    The Department of Management, Marketing, and International Business at The University of Texas-Pan American is seeking applicants to fill two tenure-track faculty positions at either the assistant or associate level.  The start date is Fall, 2009. This position is contingent on budget approval.

    Responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, and service.  Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level courses.  Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas; human resource management, organizational behavior or international management.

    Requirements for appointment at the assistant professor rank include a Ph.D. in hand from an accredited university by the start of the Fall 2009 session.  Candidates should demonstrate strong evidence or promise of scholarly research and effective teaching.

    Applicants at the associate level should have a record of teaching, scholarship, and service appropriate for that rank.  Applicants should specify the rank for which they are applying.

    The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) is located in a culturally diverse area in rapidly growing deep South Texas.  Forbes recently ranked the Edinburg/McAllen area number one in job growth and number two in the lowest cost of living among major metropolitan areas in the United States.  The University currently enrolls 17,000 students.  Located 15 miles from the US –Mexican border, UTPA’s location provides extensive opportunities for international research.  Enrolling 2,900 students, the College of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB International and offers programs at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels.
