FACULTY POSITION IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

The School of Labor and Industrial Relations at Michigan State University
seeks applications for a tenure-system faculty position at the Assistant,
Associate, or Full Professor level. We seek a colleague with strong research
skills who can teach courses in one or more of the following areas: finance
and/or accounting for HRM, HRM metrics, international HRM, and
comparative/international employment relations. The successful candidate
will be expected to pursue external funding to help support his/her research.
With a cross-disciplinary approach, faculty in the School of Labor and
Industrial Relations at Michigan State University conduct research and teach
on a diverse set of employment-related subjects including: staffing,
training, compensation, benefits, employment and labor law, collective
bargaining, high-performance work systems, comparative employment systems,
and international human resource management. Instructional responsibilities
include primarily teaching in the Schools Master of Human Resources and
Labor Relations (MHRLR) program, with some teaching in the Schools Ph.D.
program and at the undergraduate level. In addition to the East Lansing
campus, MHRLR courses are offered in Troy (Michigan) and Dubai. The School
also offers a wide range of HRM executive education programs and labor
education and development programs.
This is an academic-year appointment with a beginning date of August 16,
2009. Applicants must possess (or expect to receive by August 16, 2009) a
Ph.D. in human resource management, labor/industrial relations, or a related
disciplines. Applications should include a cover letter outlining research
and teaching interests, curriculum vitae, a list of relevant graduate
