On 1 August 2008 the <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Reading</st1:placename> will merge with the <st1:placename w:st="on">Henley</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype>, creating a new world-class business school, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Henley</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Business</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype></st1:place>.
The merger will bring together two highly complementary business education offerings: Henley is a leading international provider of executive education and MBA programmes, while <st1:city w:st="on">Reading</st1:city>'s <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Business</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype></st1:place> is a world leader in international business research with centres of excellence in business education for the financial and real estate markets. Together they will constitute one of the largest business schools in <st1:place w:st="on">Europe</st1:place>, offering a full range of programmes and a powerful combination of academic research and thought leadership.
In order to build on this foundation, we are looking to make a number of early appointments at multiple levels, from full professors to teaching fellows, in the following areas:
• Leadership
• Change Management
• Strategy
We are also seeking expressions of interest in respect of future appointments, from academics in all other core areas of business. Academic staff appointed to the new <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Henley</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Business</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype></st1:place> are likely to combine a high level of international distinction and performance in academic research, or the clear promise of such for more junior appointments, with an understanding of practical business challenges and strong teaching and communication skills. We shall also consider for appropriate appointments candidates with particular more focused strengths in either academic research or professional thought leadership and executive development.
