    Call for Associate Editors

About critical perspectives on international business

Established in 2005, critical perspectives on international business (CPoIB) is the only journal that exclusively supports critically reflexive discussion of the nature and impact of international business activity from trans- and multi-disciplinary perspectives, rather than within specific fields. The journal encourages readers to engage with, and build upon, writings and activities from the broader societal context that challenge the hegemony of global and transnational corporations, of managerial orthodoxy and of dominant academic discourse.

In recent years, the business practices and management philosophies of global enterprises have been subject to increasingly close scrutiny by commentators in the fields of journalism and academia. Such scrutiny has been motivated by a growing desire to examine the nature of globalisation, its impact on specific communities and its benefits for society as a whole. CPoIB provides a space for researchers and practitioners in diverse fields such as management, politics, economics, geography, etc., to come together to examine questions surrounding international business. CPoIB publishes innovative, novel and high-quality papers that advance conceptual, theoretical and empirical knowledge in the area of international business.

Since its launch CPoIB has enjoyed considerable success. It is now available in 970 institutions worldwide, with an acceptance rate of 25% it enjoyed 14,000 article downloads in 2008. CPoIB is included in the journal rankings of the Australian Business Deans Council and the UK Association of Business Schools.

The success and quality of the journal is supported by numerous endorsements from leading academics. The following provide an indication of the journals standing:

"CPoIB is a cutting edge leader in the critical movement. The quality and direction of the journal is awesome. The editorship is in good hands to lead international critical organization scholarship and praxis to a more ethically answerable plateau." -- David M. Boje

"CPoIB has certainly hit the ground running. It has rapidly established itself as the premier outlet for scholarly work that seeks to question rather than merely accept the current state of international business and its academic consideration. Work that appears there is of consistently high quality and relevance and provides a vital addition to the field. It is thus increasingly the first port of call that I recommend to students working in the area of International Business and ever more often the outlet of choice for those producing thoughtful work in the area." -- Simon D. Lilley

    Associate Editors

To take the journal to the next stage of development CPoIB is now seeking to expand its editorial team through the addition of a number of Associate Editors. The journal is currently co-edited by Professor George Cairns, RMIT University, Australia, and Dr Joanne Roberts, Newcastle University, UK, with the assistance of an outstanding international Editorial Advisory Board.
