I am pleased to announce that the IM Division is cooperating with the Social Science Research Network (SSRN) to create a series outlets whereby IM/IB scholars can announce and distribute their working paper and newly appearing papers.  This is part of our endeavor to create a more vibrant community that shares ideas seemlessly.

Many of you will be familiar with SSRN and most universities have subscriptions to the service.  Using SSRN allows you to get a wide distribution of your working papers, keep up with ongoing work across many fields and to track your downloads.  SSRN is widely used in Economics, Finance, Law and Political Science.  It is increasingly a venue for management scholars as well and we are leading this process through the creation of our own series.  The service uses a broadcasting approach where announcements of new papers are delivered approximately once every few weeks using a newsletter format.

Below is SSRN's announcement of the formation of the new INTL.  Included are instructions on how to subscribe.  SSRN has many other related networks (e.g., business policy, emerging markets and Latin American studies, which may also appeal to you and I encourage you to examine these as well.  I also hope that you will use the service for your own work as it is a powerful means by which we can increase the salience, timeliness and impact of IM/IB research.

SSRN is pleased to announce the creation of the International Business & Management Network (INTL) within the Management Research Network. INTL will provide a worldwide, online community for research in all areas related to their respective focuses, following the model of other subject matter networks within SSRN.  We expect INTL to become comprehensive online resources for research in business and management studies, providing scholars with access to current work in their field and facilitating research and scholarship.

INTL's founding director is Timothy M. Devinney, Professor of Strategy at the University of Technology-Sydney and Past-Chair of the IM Division of the Academy of Management - Initially, INTL will begin with the following 3 subject matter eJournals, and subscriptions will be free during the start-up phase until November 2009.
