> Overview:

This symposium builds upon the recent surge in research on multinational enterprises from developing countries (EM-MNEs) that enter and/or operate in foreign emerging or developed markets. The objective of this symposium is to shed some light on the reasons why and the conditions under which EM-MNEs would be more successful (or not) than those coming from more developed countries (DM-MNEs).

Several recent studies suggest that emerging markets are redrawing the picture of international business as their home-grown multinational enterprises manage to outperform DM-MNEs both at home and abroad. Conversely, some others argue that the behaviour of EM-MNEs may not be homogeneous enough to allow for generalization.

This session is meant to extend this debate and present the audience with complementary perspectives and foster further debate/research on the topic. <st1:place w:st="on">Opportunity</st1:place> will be given to the audience to interact with the panel.
