    Greetings members of IMD,

On behalf of Geert Hofstede, Mark Peterson and myself I would like to
invite you to send PHD students and/or junior faculty to a
workshop/conference on cross-cultural management research that we organize
for the second time at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, in May.

This year we will focus on conducting empirical research as well as
teaching cross-cultural issues, in addition to the readings of some of the
    fundamentals of cross-cultural research.

The participants will be expected to have read the reading material
beforehand and have sent a few questions pr text that they would like to
explore. The participants are also expected to present a paper. The
facilitators and the participants will have the possibility to give
    individual feedback to the participants.

Geert Hofstede and Mark Peterson are known to you. Let me say a few words
of some the other faculty. Gert Jan Hofstede is Geerts son with whom Gert
Jan has published two books, one about teaching cross-cultural issues. In
addition, Gert Jans strength is area of method of cross-cultural
management research. He is professor of international management at
    Wageningen University.

Professor Jan Selmer, chair of Department of International Business and
Management at the Aarhus Business School, will share some of his
experiences of overcoming some of the challenges of conducting
cross-cultural management research. Research fellow Anne-Katrin Neyer,
London Business School, will share some of her experiences from a
qualitative cross-cultural study on multinational teams at the European
Parliament which constitutes her PhD thesis.

In addition, Dr., CEO, Anne Knudsen, editor in chief of the Danish weekly
newspaper, Weekend Avisen, has agreed to come and share some of her
experiences of anthropology in action. Anne Knudsen is a highly prominent
actor in the current Danish debate on social and cultural issues.

The fee covers reading material, 5 lunches, and 1 dinner. We still have
two rooms at campus at about 50 US dollars pr night. Please let me know,
if you would like to prebook such a room. Rooms at hotels are available
for about 130US dollars pr night, including breakfast. Please refer to
    http://www.asb.dk/about/departments/mib/fiol/kurser/2006/maj/gccm.aspx for
information about logistics among other things.

I attach a presentation and a plan for the week.

    Best wishes

    Mikael Soendergaard
