As most of you will know by now, the AOM submission web page is open
(http://meetings.aomonline.org/2006/). The deadline for submissions is
January 9th. Our statistics show that despite all our best efforts the
bulk of the traffic will be on the 8th and the 9th! So here is a heads
    up.

The submission process involves three steps. First, you must register your
submission on the AOM web page (creating a system login, entering authors,
abstracts, and other critical information at
http://submissions.aomonline.org/2006). Second, your document must be
uploaded. Remember the formatting requirements outlined on the AOM site as
this will make everyone's task easier and make sure that your submission
gets to the right reviewers. It is critical that you give a lot of thought
to your keywords. Third, all submissions must be finalized to indicate that
you have completed all the information correctly and will abide by
conference rules (rule of 3, etc.).

Note that this is the first year the AOM submission system is working, so
please plan for any contingency. We do not foresee any problems and the
AOM IT team has been stellar in getting prepared. So please be patient.
It is recommended highly that you do not wait to submit your work until the
last minute, just in case you happen to have a problem. The deadline is
    just that; a deadline.

We also ask once again that you register to be a reviewer if you have not
already done so. You can do this by going to:
http://program.aomonline.org/reviewers. One thing we have noticed is that
the new system allows for people to sign up to review for multiple
divisions and some people appear to be reviewing for every division! The
only way to ensure that reviewers are not overburdened is to have everyone
doing their duty and reviewing papers and symposia.

This year we have a number of additional questions for reviewers so please
note that your submission will not only be reviewed for methodological
rigour, theoretical excellence and readability but also for the extent to
which it meets the IM Division's raison d'etre -- i.e., the degree to which
it represents international comparisons -- its innovativeness -- both
theoretical and empirical -- and the extent to which it meets the broad
needs of the IM Division's constituency. So remember the IM Division's
    call:

Specific Domain: content pertaining to theory, research, and practice with
a cross-border or cross-cultural dimension. Major topics include: the
    cross-border management of operations, including multi-country, multi-unit
strategy formulation and implementation; evolving organizational forms and
management practices in cross-border business; the cross-border
differential impact of cultural, social, economic, technological,
political, and other institutional forces on strategies, organizational
forms, and management practices; the international competitiveness of
firms, industries, and nations; and comparative management studies
involving two or more countries. Papers that focus on a single country and
have no international issues or implications should be submitted to another
division of the Academy whose domain is appropriate for the paper’s topic.

Special Instructions: The IM Division invites the submission of innovative
empirical or conceptual papers, symposia, and panels that are specifically
oriented to the 2005 all-Academy theme of “Knowledge, Action and the Public
Concern”. This year’s theme explores the linkages among organizational
knowledge, managerial action and the major issues that face people in the
global and knowledge economy and we are particularly interested in symposia
and panels that integrate academic, corporate, governmental and
non-governmental civil society groups in innovative ways.

Happy Holidays, happy writing and if there are any questions please direct
them to me and the team at IMD2006Program@agsm.edu.au (please do not reply
