Hello, IM Division members:
I would like to introduce an exciting Professional Development Workshop (PDW) at the upcoming AOM annual meeting in Vancouver.
This PDW on the topic of global talent management (GTM) provides a rare and invaluable opportunity to enhance our knowledge in the area of international human resource management. Through discussions with the panelists, other academics, and top executives from South Korean multinational enterprises, such as Samsung and LG, we strive to narrow the research-practice gap between academicians and practitioners. Although GTM first gained mainstream attention from practitioners in the late 1990s, there has been lagging and slow research development from academics on this topic. Participants in the PDW session will discuss the current academic development of GTM and its future research directions. Executives will share actual cases drawn from their companies, and their thoughts on the challenges and issues they face in managing global talent.
