    Dear AoM-IMD Colleague,

Please find below information about an upcoming faculty development workshop that is being offered from June 12-16, 2007 through the George Washington University Center for International Business Education and Research (GW-CIBER) on Teaching Strategies for International Negotiation in Washington , D.C.  We are pleased that our CIBER colleagues at Duke University, Temple University and The University of Texas at Austin are co-sponsoring this workshop.

Many leading schools are offering courses dedicated to the subject of International Negotiation; and many other courses include this critical area in their coverage.  We hope that you will help us identify key faculty (or advanced graduate students preparing for university teaching careers) at your institution who would benefit from this faculty development workshop.  The workshop is designed for those who are planning such a course now, or who are looking to join a group of committed faculty from around the county to work together to enhance existing courses and improve their pedagogy related to International Negotiation.

This year’s workshop builds upon past success by leveraging the input from several noted scholars, teachers, and negotiation practitioners to provide workshop participants with a broad view of the field, as well as specific, actionable strategies for improving teaching and learning.  Our focus is on international negotiation per se—with important contributions from a range of fields including law, business, communication, international relations, political science and public administration.

Owing to the generous support of the U.S. Department of Education, we are able to provide this outstanding workshop at a very attractive rate of $1,650 which includes participant lodging in Washington , D.C. , all workshop materials, and most meals.  For participants from CIBER network schools, and those providing evidence of financial need, we offer a $350 scholarship to attend the workshop.  Participation is limited to 30 given the highly interactive nature of the workshop.

Thank you in advance for alerting appropriate faculty at your school to this exciting professional development opportunity.

    Kind Regards,
