****Apologies for cross postings****
Dear all,
I thought many of you might be interested to know that version 2.2 of
Publish or Perish is now out. Publish or Perish is a software
programme that retrieves and analyzes academic citations, using Google
Scholar (http://www.harzing.com/pop.htm).
Version 2.2 includes many usability enhancements as well as several
new export formats and metrics. If you have any user feedback on the
new version, please do not hesitate to contact me at
pop@harzing.com.
The programme should be useful for academics preparing for confirmation,
tenure, promotion or job applications. The advantages of using Google
Scholar instead of ISI Thomson data are explained in detail at:
http://www.harzing.com/pop_gs.htm
The choice for Google Scholar is particularly relevant for Management
scholars as many good journals in our field are not ISI listed and hence
citations in these journals are not counted by ISI.
My website also includes two further white papers on this topic:
* Reflections on the h-index
http://www.harzing.com/pop_hindex.htm
* Reflections on norms for the h-index and related indices
http://www.harzing.com/pop_norm.htm
Finally, Publish or Perish includes a detailed help file with search
tips and additional information about the citation metrics. The help
file is now also available online:

Best wishes,
-- Anne-Wil,
