    Apologies for cross-postings

The Department of Organization and Strategy of Tilburg University invites applications for Tenure Track Assistant Professors of Organization and Strategy. We are very much interested in candidates with expertise in international management. We are able to hire multiple applicants to join the Department in any month during 2013; however ABD applicants are expected to have completed their doctoral dissertation prior to taking up employment.

The Department of Organization and Strategy is part of the School of Economics and Management at Tilburg University. Full Professors of the Department include Geert Duysters (innovation and entrepreneurship), Xavier Martin (strategy, international business and innovation), Niels Noorderhaven (international management and innovation), Tal Simons (organization theory), Bart Vos (operations and supply chain management) and Arjen van Witteloostuijn (organization and economics, department chair). The Department also employs a vibrant group of mid-career and junior faculty including Associate Professors Eric Dooms, Harold Krikke, Jeroen Kuilman, Bert Meijboom and Aswin van Oijen plus Assistant Professors Marco Furlotti, Elena Golovko, Zilin He, Louis Mulotte, Wolfgang Sofka, Adam Tatarynowicz and Zheying Wu, not to mention an intellectually diverse and engaged group of lecturers. Senior part-time, emeritus or equivalent faculty include Jean-François Hennart (international business), Bart Nooteboom (interfirm relations and innovation policy) and Roger Schroeder (also the Donaldson Chair in Operations Management Emeritus at the University of Minnesota).

The department faculty work primarily in the research areas of strategy, international business, organization theory, entrepreneurship, and innovation from a variety of theoretical and empirical methodological perspectives. (Another primary research area is operations/supply chain management; interested applicants in that area should refer to our separate position announcement.) Department members are drawn from leading universities in North America, Asia and Europe. The Department has a very strong research orientation with a focus on high-quality publications. The Department is associated with several research institutes, including as co-leader of the Center for Innovation Research, and with several large-scale research initiatives.

Faculty of the Organization and Strategy Department mostly teach in three bachelor programs, three MSc programs, a Research Master program and a PhD program. All programs except one of the bachelor programs are taught in English. Non-Dutch-speaking candidates will be asked to teach in English only. The working language of the Department and School is English. Further information about the Department is available at www.tilburguniversity.edu/os.

We aim to maximize the research time available to active faculty, and working conditions are otherwise comparable to major research universities in North America and Europe. The standard teaching load for tenure-track faculty, in total per year, is two courses plus guidance of Bachelor and Master's thesis projects. Compensation is competitive with similar schools, and we provide support for conferences and other research related expenses.

Tilburg University is one of Europe's leading universities in the fields of economics and management – indeed it regularly ranks among Europe's top 3 by research productivity. Tilburg is a pleasant city located in the Southern Netherlands, within one of Europe's foremost high-tech regions and equidistant from Amsterdam (Netherlands), Brussels (Belgium) and the Dusseldorf/Cologne area (Germany).

Review of complete applications will start on October 1, 2012 and continue until the positions are filled. Applicants should submit (1) a brief motivation letter, (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) a research statement and (as relevant) a dissertation summary, (4) examples of research, and (5) evidence of teaching ability (which may include a teaching statement). In addition they should ask three referees to submit their letters of reference directly. Applications and letters of reference should be sent to OS-recruiting@tilburguniversity.edu. Make sure to mention "organization and strategy" in the header and text of your e-mail.

Any questions relating to these positions can be directed to Xavier Martin at x.martin@tilburguniversity.edu.
