    The Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, WU) is currently inviting applications for two positions at the Department of Cross-Border Business at Full Professor level:

    (1) International Business with special focus on Internationalization of Firms/ International Marketing (Ref.no. 106948);

    (2) International Business with special focus on Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) (Ref.no. 107048)

    Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (WU) is the largest business university in the European Union and is centrally located at the heart of Europe. The University maintains an excellent position as a center for research and teaching and attracts an international group of students and faculty. It offers a broad range of subjects in all areas of economics and business administration. WU is one of only four EQUIS accredited universities in the German-speaking world and is striving to achieve a top position among the leading European business universities. It is known for its high level of internationalization and its expertise in Central and Eastern Europe issues.     Regarding position
    (1): Candidates should be particularly knowledgeable in the area of corporate internationalization as well as international marketing (e.g., internationalization processes, market and country selection, and strategic issues). A quantitative approach combined with expertise in related theoretical concepts from business and management as well as experience regarding field research would be desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the curriculum development of WU's planned Master's program in International Business to be launched in 2010.

    Regarding position
    (2): Candidates should be familiar with the economic and social environment of business in CEE. Research interests could include the changing social and political frameworks of international business activities. Furthermore, special needs for marketing and finance could be of research interest. Interested scholars will be expected to be knowledgeable in business and management theory and experienced in empirical research. The candidate is expected to become involved in WU's Competence Center for Central and Eastern Europe (see http://www.wu-wien.ac.at/cee).

    Applicants should have (a) a solid academic qualification (Ph.D., Habilitation); (b) an outstanding publication record on international business topics; and (c) a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. The candidates are expected to cultivate an environment of excellence and collaboration to augment the Department's research, teaching, and service endeavors. Experience in acquiring and conducting third-party funded research and in disseminating research results to the business community is expected.

    Successful candidates will be expected to teach in programs at all levels (Bachelor, M.Sc., Ph.D. and Executive Education) at WU. Teaching experience in English is required. Non German-speaking candidates are expected to acquire proficiency in German over a certain period of time.
