Dear IACMR Members OR Dear AOM Members:

International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR) will hold its sixth conference on June 18-22, 2014 in Beijing, China.
    (Conference website: http://www.iacmr.org/v2en/List.asp?navid=65)

The goal of the conference is to provide a forum for scholars from around the world to share the latest research on management and organizations in the Chinese context, with a special focus on exploring new concepts and theories.  IACMR is committed to assisting scholars, students, managers, and consultants who are interested in advancing knowledge about Chinese management. As China's political, cultural, and intellectual center, Beijing is the perfect location for IACMR members to interact.

    About the Conference Theme
As the world's second largest economy undergoing fundamental transition, China is an important context for management and organization research.  Many scholars have made significant contributions to Chinese management research, yet much more remains to be done.  Extant Chinese management research has relied mostly on questions, theories, constructs, and methods developed in the Western context. Lagging behind are exploratory studies addressing important questions unique to Chinese firms or developing theories that go beyond prevailing Western paradigms. Therefore, the conference committee has chosen the 2014 conference theme: Exploring New Concepts and Theories from Chinese Management. We welcome submissions that address new questions, explore new concepts, and propose new theories from the "Chinese theory of management" perspective, which theorizes and explains Chinese phenomena in uniquely Chinese contexts.
Apart from the conference theme, we also welcome submissions on all topics important to organization and management in the Chinese context, including mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, or to Chinese organizations operating globally. We welcome papers and symposia in all disciplinary areas. We accept studies using various methodologies including survey research, archival data analysis, experimental studies, case studies, qualitative methods, and other creative methods for Chinese management research.
