Dear Colleagues:
We invite you to join us for the Organizational Behavior Teaching Conference
sponsored by the OBTS: Teaching Society for Management Educators. The
conference is June 8-11, 2011 at Marquette University in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. Registration is now open and given strong interest in the
conference, we encourage you to register early!
Our theme this year: Open to the Possibilities: Self-Students-Community-
World has produced a wide array of fabulous sessions for you to choose from.
The conference program will be posted within the next two weeks so you can
see the creative selection of topics and opportunities for learning, fun,
and enrichment, as well as our tradition of making new friends and
colleagues.
The conference website at
http://www.obtc.org contains information on
registration options and prices, housing costs, and travel information, as
well as a timetable for the conference.
OBTC is held annually at a college or university campus somewhere in North
America. In order to minimize conference and food costs for attendees, as
well as promote a strong community spirit, conference registration includes:
1. participation in the OBTC sessions
2. housing in an on-campus facility close to all conference activities
3. all meals during the conference, including breakfast (Thurs, Fri,
Sat), lunch (Thurs, Fri, Sat) and dinner (Wed, Thurs, Fri)
4. conference bag complete with goodies
5. all social events and receptions, including a Thursday-night dinner
and tour of Miller Brewing Friday-night traditional Milwaukee Fish Fry. In
addition, our Cabaret/Talent Show will be held on Friday evening after
dinner.
6. a one-year membership to the OBTS Teaching Society for Management
Educators which includes proprietary, member-only resources on the OBTS web
site.
7. a one year subscription to the Journal of Management Education
University housing is singles and doubles (with private bathrooms) with a
lounge and spectacular views of Milwaukee on each floor. On campus housing
is paid for as a 3-night block (Wed, Thurs, and Fri). You?ll also have the
opportunity to book pre-conference event housing in the same way, but only
if you are attending a pre-conference activity.
Attendees can also choose to register as a ?commuter? and then make their
own housing arrangements in nearby hotels or commute from home. There are a
number of hotels nearby: The Doubletree and the Ramada, both downtown hotels
within two blocks of Marquette. The commuter fee covers everything
described above for the "all inclusive" options EXCEPT for lodging in
college residence halls and breakfasts.
On the website there are regular, student/retired, and guest registration
options. Sorry, but we do not have single-day registration options, or pro-
rated fees based on late arrival or early departure.
Let us also alert you to the pre-conference activities that are available.
This year, we have the traditional T-Group and the Doctoral Institute.
Information on these activities is provided on the website.
If you have additional questions please check the conference website at
http://www.obtc.org or contact the conference organizers. We look forward
to welcoming you in June to this great conference.
