PDW: Shaping Caring Cultures and Strategies in Organizations
and
PDW: Transforming Institutions and Leaders in Support of Caring Economics Principles, Policies and Practices
Join a group of Researchers and Practitioners (from multiple disciplines) who want to solve real world problems and systemic issues related to Caring Economics, Care, and Care-giving in society, organizations and institutions, leadership, and the natural environment!
Following is a list of current project leaders and their working projects that are in place for action research work at two related Professional Development Workshops at AOM 2011. Please join us and contribute your research, practical experience, and innovative insights to these teams!
Given the great level of interest and number of attendees signed up for these sessions, we will also be using Open Space methodologies and conversation to organically create additional working project teams at the start of each PDW. All are welcome! We invite you to join both PDW's, and extend your project work and/or participation across both sessions.
PDW #14414: "Shaping Caring Cultures and Strategies in Organizations" (Friday, August 14, 2011, 8 am to 12 pm, Grand Hyatt Lone Star C))

· Kerubo Abuya: Shifting Cultural Assumptions that Enable Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) amongst the Abagusii
· Andrew J. Germak, Shelly Wimpfheimer, and John Brothers: Creating Caring Leadership Transitions through Interim Executive Appointments in the Nonprofit Human Service Sector
· Shankar Sankaran: A proposal to investigate leadership of the future using action research among academics and practitioners
· John Sarno: Managing to Innovate, Motivate and Infomate
· Sheldene Simola: Developing Transformational Leaders through Cultivation of the Embodied Dimensions of Care
· Tara Wernsing: Enhancing the Values of MBA Education
