CSR FUTURES: KNOWLEDGE & PRACTICE – CALL FOR PAPERS

Call for Papers for the ICCSR 10th Anniversary Conference to be held at Nottingham University Business School, Nottingham UK on 26th & 27th April 2012.

CSR has emerged as both a sub-field of business and management studies and as a basic management concept.  In essence it refers to business responsibility to and for society but the meaning of these terms alone has provoked controversy.

So where is CSR going?  Is this just a matter of issues and context?  Or is CSR acquiring some stable attributes?  If, so what are these attributes and what explains them?  Is CSR becoming institutionalised, and again, if so how and why?  Is the future CSR more about accountability, a business case, ethics, sustainability, or even compliance?

    Conference Outline:

The conference will combine practitioner and academic keynote presentations and practitioner and academic panels which will address the broad question of CSR futures. We are inviting both academic researchers and practitioners to respond to the call for papers.  In addition there will be the following streams to address more focused questions about CSR futures:

    Asian CSR and its Dynamics

Beyond the Attitude-Behaviour Gap: Novel Perspective on Consumer Ethics

Business & Development: Moving Forward on MDGs

    CSR Context and Dynamics

CSR and Governance: Comparative and International Perspectives

    CSR Impact: Beyond Financial Performance

    Leadership for Sustainability

Organisations in Transition: Exploring the Role of Accounting and Reporting for Organisational Change toward Sustainability

Authors interested in submitting a paper for presentation at the conference should submit an abstract of 1000 words (making sure to indicate one of the streams) to Karen.maltby@nottingham.ac.uk by Friday 13th January 2012.  Notice of acceptance of abstract will be made on 30th January 2012.

The conference track team for Beyond the Attitude-Behaviour Gap: Novel Perspectives on Consumer Ethics will also be guest editing a research/thematic symposium of the Journal of Business Ethics (JBE) aligned with this track.  The conference track will provide a forum within which authors interested in publishing within the JBE symposium can present their work and receive valuable feedback.  All papers accepted for the ICCSR conference track will also be considered for publication in the JBE symposium.  Please note that abstracts submitted for this track must be 1500 words in length.
