    Assistant Professor in Strategy and Entrepreneurship


    The Department of Management in the College of Business at Florida State University is currently recruiting for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Strategy and Entrepreneurship effective August 2017.  Candidates at the junior Associate level will be considered as well.  Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.
     
    Florida State University (http://www.fsu.edu) is a comprehensive, graduate research university of approximately 40,000 students located in Tallahassee, Florida (http://www.visittallahassee.com). The College of Business enrolls approximately 5,600 undergraduate students, over 400 master's students, and about 50 PhD students.   U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks the undergraduate program among the top 40 public institutions.  The College of Business online graduate programs ranked no. 4 among public and private universities on U.S. News and World Report's 2016 list. And, the Ph.D. program has a unique distinction of producing the highest number of minority graduates in the nation.  The candidate will be in a unique position to work with the newly created Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship. The Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship is generously supported by a $100 million donation by the Jim Moran Foundation.

     

    Tallahassee is the state capital, a diverse, mid-sized All-American City of approximately 375,000 people, located 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and within easy driving distance of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The city is known for its outdoor activities, park system, and performing arts.

     

    The current Strategy and Entrepreneurship faculty include Michael Holmes, Bruce Lamont, and David Maslach who regularly publish in such journals as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, and Strategic Management Journal. This group is located within the larger Management Department, which includes Shanna Daniels, Ceasar Douglas, Jerry Ferris, Jack Fiorito, Wayne Hochwarter, Pam Perrewe, Lee Stepina, Chad Van Iddekinge, and Gang Wang.

                                                                              
    Qualifications

    An earned doctorate from an AACSB accredited institution is required.  The ideal candidate would be at the senior Assistant or junior Associate levels with a demonstrated record of quality research and teaching effectiveness.   A desire to teach and work with doctoral students is essential.
