HR Ambassadors Program

This PDW targets junior international faculty who may find it challenging to find their place within the Academy. In line with the Academy's ongoing outreach to international scholars, and its desire to be more inclusive and relevant to an increasing number of international faculty joining the academy, this workshop aims to provide a platform for peer-to-peer interaction, whereby well-established HR Ambassadors from a wide range of countries welcome new members to the HR Division, and to the HR Ambassador program more specifically. This PDW runs in four parts. The first part will be dedicated to ice-breaking activities and cultural awareness-raising among participants. Each ambassador will briefly introduce their country, present an artifact of their country to raise cultural awareness. The second part will be dedicated to testimonials from HR Ambassadors about how being part of this program helped them in their research, teaching, networking. Participants will also share in roundtables the specificities of doing HRM research in their country. The third part will include presentations by the Ambassadors program's leadership to report some facts about the HR division and the Ambassadors program's vision and future plans. The last part will be a networking session to facilitate relationships among the junior international faculty members themselves as well as between junior and established HR scholars from a variety of countries. Junior faculty will also be given the chance to sign up for the HR Ambassadors program if they wish to do so.
