Dear IM Division members,
Thank you so much for your many self-nominations and nominations of others. All the nominations received are of amazing scholars and colleagues. I was concerned that there were not many nominations. Thus, I extended the deadline. However, it seems that the nominations system does not self-refresh! We have received a wealth of nominations. THANK YOU.
This is what will happen from now on:
Nominations for committees will be forwarded to the committee chairs who will draw on the pool as needed (based on the needed expertise).
Nominations for awards will be forwarded to the appropriate award committee and will be considered at the time of deliberations.
Two of the nominations for Executive Committee (EC) Membership will be included on a ballot and I hope that you will vote for one of them. The dozen nominees are amazing colleagues and scholars. However, only one can become an EC member. Thank you all for your willingness to dedicate your time and effort to the division! Helping us make our shortlist will be the following criteria that the EC unanimously decided on during last Fall: Past involvement in the division and ensuring that the EC members indeed represent the geographic and functional distribution of the membership. Of course, ability is an important criterion but clearly all the nominees are more than able. Another criterion is availability, which we will need to check when the nomination is by others rather than self-nomination.
Thank you for helping to ensure that the International Management Division of the Academy of Management stays healthy and vibrant into the future. And don't forget to keep renewing your membership and checking the IM box.
