    Research Project

A key characteristic of more and more cultural and creative organizations is the dual leadership structure with respect to artistic and commercial goals. The research will be conducted in the international field setting of museums, opera houses, festivals, video games, movies and/or theatres. The key questions are: 1) What drives the artistic and market orientation of cultural organizations? 2) How do these orientations change over time? 3) What structures and approaches are present to handle decisions in the commercial - artistic interface? 4) How effective are these approaches and in respect to what kind of performance metrics? The research will combine multiple methods of investigation, qualitative as well as quantitative, and also calls for skills in research liaison with host organizations and good external presentation skills.
