Dear Colleagues
This is to let everyone know that we have organized "Institutional Changes Unfolding: The Case of Uprising Islamic Societies" at AOM 2013 (Orlando). This topic is an ongoing and dynamic issue in the field of international business and management which makes this PDW a unique one in its kind. We here by would like to bring it to your attention.
When: Aug 9 2013 4:45PM - 6:45PM
Where: WDW Yacht and Beach Club Resort in Grand Harbor Salon III
After a very productive PDW organized by the Montreal Local Global Research Group at the 2012 AOM meeting in Boston, we continue the discussion by a follow up PDW that addresses the current stage of institutional change in the uprising Islamic societies. This PDW addresses two factors: First, current events provide great opportunities to researchers to monitor and study institutional change as it is happening; second, there is urgent need to shed more light on doing business in this less studied part of the world. The uprising Islamic societies are experiencing institutional changes due to functional, political, and social pressures, however, the direction and nature of these new institutions are not clear so far. The current changes give a wide opportunity to study institutional changes as they are proposed, implemented or even rejected.
